Many people have heard about botulinum toxin, fillers, chemical
peels, and lasers for facial rejuvenation. These treatments can be
helpful for fine lines and wrinkles, sun spots, broken capillaries,
and restoring lost facial volume. However, to lift and tighten the skin,
more invasive treatments such as plastic surgery are often required.
But now there is an alternative to surgery that can offer
improvements without cutting the skin so there is minimal to
no risk of infection and scarring. The latest advance for facial
rejuvenation is focused ultrasound lifting.
Ultrasound facial tightening uses the same technology that allows
physicians to examine women and their baby during pregnancy.
During the 30 to 60 minute treatment, the Ultherapy device enables physicians to direct sound waves through the skin
(and visualize all the skin layers) to focus on the deep tissue structures under the skin.
Before this technology was available, the only way to reach these levels was with invasive surgery.
Once the deep tissues structures are visualized, the treatment targets and gently heats the deepest layers of the skin. The heat stimulates the skin’s natural ability to create new collagen that, with time, helps to lift and tighten the skin to maintain a youthful look.
Skin lifting is seen gradually over 2-3 months after treatment as the skin continues to make new collagen. Since heat is produced during the treatment, some patients may choose to take oral medications to make the procedure more comfortable.
The Ultherapy treatment is not a replacement for the dramatic results that can be achieved with facial plastic surgery. However, it offers a no-downtime approach to help lift and tighten skin around the jawline, eyes and the so-called “wattle” under the chin without needles, cutting, scarring or an obvious “pulled” look. As with any medical procedure, it is important to seek out an experienced physician to determine if you are a good candidate for treatment, and if so, discuss the next steps to help achieve the best results possible.
Indications for Use
The Ultrasound is indicated for use as a non-invasive dermatological aesthetic treatment to: Lift the eyebrow,Lift lax submental (beneath the chin) and neck tissue, Improve lines.Cheek sagging or sunken problems.
Contraindications

The Ultrasound has not been evaluated for use in patients on an anticoagulant treatment
plan.It is recommended that the following areas should be avoided during treatment:

>Herpes Simplex
>Autoimmune Disease
>Diabetes
> Epilepsy
>Bell’s Palsy
Potential Side Effects
Side effects reported in the clinical evaluation of the Ultrasound for the brow, submental(under the chin) area and neck treatment(s) were mild and only transient in nature, not to worry. These were limited to:
#Erythema (redness): The treated area may exhibit erythema immediately following treatment. This typically resolves within a few hours of treatment.
#Edema (swelling): The treated area may exhibit mild edema following treatment. This typically resolves within 3 to 72 hours of treatment.
#Pain: Momentary discomfort may be experienced during the procedure. Post procedure discomfort typically resolves within 2 hours and 2 day. Tenderness to the touch is also possible and typically resolves within 2 days to 2 weeks of treatment or even longer but just temporarily.
#Bruising: Mild bruising, which is caused by damage to soft tissue blood vessels, may occur
occasionally and typically resolves within 2 days to two weeks of treatment.
#Nerve Effects:
>>Transient local muscle weakness may result after treatment due to inflammation of a motor nerve. This typically resolves in 2 to 6 weeks of treatment.
>> Transient numbness may result after treatment due to inflammation of a sensory nerve. This typically resolves in 2 to 6 weeks of treatment.
>>Transient pain, paresthesia and/or tingling may be experienced. This typically resolves in 2 to 6 weeks of treatment.
>>No permanent injuries to facial nerves have been reported.
#Scarring: The possibility for scar formation (which may respond to medical care) may sometimes exist .
Complaints and Adverse Events:No serious adverse events were observed during the clinical study evaluation of the Ultrasound Lifting System. It follows MDR (Medical Device Reporting) rules for handling complaints and adverse events. Should an adverse event be suspected or reported, contact your medical team for further information.
Post treatment care:
If swelling or redness notes ice packing 5-10 minutes each time in each area.
No Sauna, facial further peeling or hot environment over exposed within 5 -7days
Moisturise and sun block care should be done as usual.
